August 12, 2004 – Tokyo - Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (Ajinomoto, President & CEO: Kunio Egashira; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) was selected for FTSE4-Good Index Series, which acts as a barometer of market performance of socially responsible companies in March 2004.
This selection means that Ajinomotofs commitment to working towards environmental sustainability, developing positive relationships with stakeholders, and upholding and supporting universal human rights was evaluated. FTSE4-Good Index Series is a SRI index provided by FTSE Group, a world leading stock and bond rating firm, which is a joint capital investment of Financial Times (FT): a British financial paper and the London Stock Exchange (LSE). FTSE4-Good Index Series has become an important index to measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards, and to facilitate investment in those companies. Stocks of the companies listed on the index are included in portfolio of SRI Funds, Eco Funds, and other funds. Currently, 656 companies worldwide (including 123 Japanese) are listed on FTSE4-Good Index, which will be reviewed semiannually based on financial, environmental, and social performances. |
