Ajinomoto Appoints Its First Three
Foreign Corporate Executive Officers |

March 22, 2005 - Tokyo - Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (Ajinomoto, President & CEO: Kunio Egashira; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) appointed three foreign Corporate Executive Officers at the Meeting of the Board of Directors held today. The appointments will become effective June 2005.
From its beginnings in Japan, Ajinomoto aims to be a global corporation in food and amino acid products, and the Company promotes the appointment of superior personnel regardless of gender or nationality. These will be the first foreign Corporate Executive Officers appointed since Ajinomoto introduced the Corporate Executive Officer system in June 2003. Ajinomoto will also begin group management under the Group Executive Manager system (GEM system) in April to work on a groupwide basis to assign and train personnel who can manage a global group for the twenty-first century. Ajinomoto President Kunio Egashira made the following comments about the appointees. gMr. Vrillon achieved excellent results as president of our feed-grade amino acids business in the United States. He is currently displaying his management capabilities in Europe. He is truly a well-balanced individual and moreover, he has an outstanding personality.h gMr. Falgoux has contributed greatly to expanding our feed-grade Lysine business in France. He is an extremely able manager.h gMr. Paraskevov has been involved in management of our R&D center in Russia since the start of the joint venture. He has done a splendid job of managing the center, marked by many significant achievements. He is a fine man with an excellent sense of humor.h The appointment will become effective subject to the approval of the Meeting of the Board of Directors held after the ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held in late June.
