@April 1, 2005 | Tokyo | As part of its global corporate citizenship program, the Ajinomoto Group solicited applications for new projects in the areas of food, nutrition and health through the Ajinomoto International Cooperation Network for Nutrition and Health (AIN) in September 2004. The Group has selected six new support projects in which to collaborate with non-profit organizations (NPOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from Japan and overseas.
@The Ajinomoto Groupfs philosophy is to contribute significant advances in Food and Health on a global basis and ultimately to create a better life for all. Since 1999, the Ajinomoto Group has undertaken 10 international cooperation projects primarily in the areas of food, nutrition and health as part of its corporate citizenship activities under this philosophy and as part of support activities to improve nutrition in the developing countries where it is most urgently needed. @After wide-ranging solicitation of applications for the projects and receipt of applications from NPOs and NGOs in Japan and overseas, Ajinomoto based its selection decisions on factors including the deliberation of a selection committee, site visits and the opinions of Ajinomoto Group overseas subsidiaries. The Ajinomoto Group will share information among the participating organizations and beneficiaries concerning project objectives, activity scheduling and methods starting in April, as part of the Ajinomoto Groupfs Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
