"Society Volunteerism Award"

Since June 2001, Ajinomoto Group established a commendation system for employees who contribute to the local community by continuously participating in volunteer activities on the principle of improving the environment, and sense the value of the voluntary corporate citizenship activity. Award winners are selected from nominated candidates every year.

Eligibility conditions

• Contributing to corporate citizenship activities and receiving regular praise from the local community.
• The activity has continued for more than 3 years, at least.
• The activity is expected to continue in the future.

2003: 5 employees *including 2 employees overseas

• Voluntary firefighter (5 years)
• Environmental conservation activities in a local community (in the mountains, forests and water areas) (3 years)

2002: 8 employees and 1 group (27 employees) *including 1 employee overseas

• Public bath mural preservation (5 years)
• Volunteer activities for education and welfare organization (4 years)

2001: 16 employees and 1 group (25 employees)

• "Nature park rangers" commissioned by the Environmental Agency, Activities for sound upbringing of youth, observations of nature and conservation projects (28 years)
• Volunteer activities interacting with children of a children's institution (28 years)
• First aid instructor commissioned by the Japanese Red Cross Society (25 years)
