TOKYO, August 27, 2014 - Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (Ajinomoto Philippines), a consolidated subsidiary of Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (Ajinomoto Co.), began sales throughout the Philippines in June 2014 of PORKSAVOR® complete flavor seasoning containing pork extract. This flavor seasoning is a complete and balanced combination of spices and basic seasonings with the aroma of the natural concentrated pork broth that is favored in Philippine home cooking, and is cholesterol free. It appeals its simplicity of use.

Continuing stable economic growth is expected in the Philippines, which has a population of approximately 100 million and a GDP growth rate of approximately 6%. In addition, the seasonings market in fiscal 2013 grew approximately 10% year on year (Ajinomoto Co. survey) and is expected to continue expanding. With the launch of PORKSAVOR®, which enables easier, more delicious preparation of soup, stir-fry and other daily dishes, Ajinomoto Philippines is opening up a new field in seasonings to attract more customers and further expand its seasonings business.

A survey by Ajinomoto Philippines found that while pork broth is favored for flavoring in Philippine home cooking and slowly simmered homemade stock is used in particular for soup dishes, there is a high level of need for complete seasoning with a blend of spices and basic seasonings. Focused on this finding, the company developed PORKSAVOR® containing pork extract with an authentic flavor by using Ajinomoto Co.’s unique key ingredients. This exemplifies the Ajinomoto Group’s approach of “Creating Specialty (high added value)” by applying its unique technologies to produce “Deliciousness” and “New Value” adapted to each country. The brand name PORKSAVOR® was coined to convey the full-bodied, delicious taste and flavor of pork. Ajinomoto Philippines is providing a high-quality product at a reasonable price to deliver deliciousness to as many customers as possible.

Following its establishment in 1958, Ajinomoto Philippines launched umami seasoning AJI-NO-MOTO® and built a business foundation by visiting outlets in traditional trade while using its unique sales methods to sell the product in small packets that could be bought with a single coin. Since then, the company has gained a firm following of regular customers by rolling out a wide range of seasonings for particular menus, including GINISA flavor seasoning for stir-fried dishes and CRISPY FRY® menu-specific seasoning for fried dishes.
