RICE PLANTING

Spring is the season for planting rice in Japan. Although in recent years, many farmers have come to use machinery for planting rice seedlings. However, in narrow paddy fields and places left unplanted by automated processes the seedlings are planted by hand, as shown here. Thereafter, the rice crop is harvested in the autumn.
