Ajinomoto Establishes Sales Company in Russia OOO “Ajinomoto” (June 17, 2004(Thursday))

June 25, 2004 – Tokyo - Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (President: Kunio Egashira; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) has established OOO “Ajinomoto” in Russia with the aim of quickly establishing a business foundation in the growing Russian economy.  As one of the so-called BRICs together with Brazil, China and India, Russia is among the world’s fastest growing market. OOO “Ajinomoto” will concentrate on developing the market for certain of Ajinomoto’s amino acids and related products. Through these activities, Ajinomoto expects the new company to contribute to the development of the Russian amino acids market.  In the future, OOO “Ajinomoto” will assume additional responsibilities in expanding its scope of operations to the food products business, and will become a key component of the Ajinomoto Group’s food products and amino acids operations in Russia. It will also collect information on other businesses, including the food products business, through a representative office.
