| Emergency
support for the Chuetsu earthquake in Niigata |

On October 23, 2004 at 17:56 (JST), There was a M6.8 earthquake at a
depth of 13 km under the Chuetsu region, Niigata prefecture.
Ajinomoto group has been communicating with the emergency relief office
in Niigata Prefecture, and implemented the following emergency support
to people in the disaster-stricken area.

Also, through the emergency relief office, we are always prepared to respond
to requests from the disaster-stricken area, and are examining the possibility
of sending amino acid beverages and other goods.
Additionally, we are members of Japan Business Federation's 1% Club
which is exploring a contribution by means of a monetary donation and
supplies as well as asking for volunteers. We will fully cooperate with
these plans.
We hope for a full and speedy recovery of the area at the earliest possible
date.
