In order to strengthen the Ajinomoto Group’s initiatives for animal welfare, we held the fourth roundtable on July 10. With Professor Junko Edahiro of Graduate School of Leadership and Innovation, Shizenkan University as facilitator, we focused on the subject of animal welfare in the livestock industry and, engaged in a constructive exchange of opinions on the themes noted below with outside experts.

  • Lecture by Prof. Kishigami:
Animal welfare within sustainability issues gaining attention in the livestock & food product fields

  • Lecture by Dr. Takeda:
Laws & regulations, guidelines, and quantitative standards (national, regional, species-based, etc.) related to farm animal welfare

With the beneficial input of these lectures, the roundtable was an opportunity for us to deepen our understanding by exchanging opinions, and assess the scope of our approach to animal welfare.
