The Situation in Ukraine and Support for Ukraine and its Neighboring Countries

On behalf of the Ajinomoto Group, allow us to first express that that we are deeply concerned with the humanitarian crisis and the loss of human life in Ukraine. Our sympathies are with all those affected by the escalation of conflict, including the displaced families and communities that are experiencing grave uncertainty and fear for their life. We are troubled by the reports we are seeing out of Ukraine and neighboring countries, and recognize the global unity in the humanitarian response looking to alleviate human suffering as much as possible.

In addition to in-kind donation of products, instant noodles provided by our operations in Poland, the Ajinomoto Group is supporting the World Food Program’s emergency operation to provide food assistance for people fleeing the conflict inside Ukraine and in neighboring countries, with a financial donation of $1,000,000. WFP will be assuring continued access to humanitarian support for affected communities and their food assistance operation is expected to also cover refugees in neighboring countries, guided by the humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, humanity and independence.

As a global food and health company that operates in more than 130 countries and regions, our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our employees, and their families, as well as partners impacted in any way by the conflict and humanitarian crisis. We will continue to follow the events closely and seek to find ways to support those in need, as we hope for peace, security and stability in the world.
