Ajinomoto Technological University: Aiming for Employee and Corporate Growth

Mastering DX Technologies to Accelerate Corporate Digital Transformation

The Ajinomoto Group drives digital transformation (DX) as a key initiative to advance Ajinomoto Shared Value (ASV) management. While the Group integrates digital technology in diverse areas, including marketing, company-wide operations, and work-style reform, employees must develop a strong understanding of digital-era thinking and acquire the practical skills to apply it in their work. Doing so will enable employees to apply these technologies effectively to generate results. Against this backdrop, Ajinomoto do Brasil Industria e Comercio de Alimentos Ltda. (Ajinomoto Brazil) launched Universidade Tecnológica Ajinomoto (Ajinomoto Technological University, UTA) in July 2023.
UTA was established to align the strategic goals of Ajinomoto Brazil with the professional growth of company employees. We believe equipping employees with the DX skills to make data-driven decisions will enable us to accelerate digital transformation further at Ajinomoto do Brasil Industria e Comercio de Alimentos Ltda. Beyond skill development, UTA fosters a culture of digitalization, encourages innovation, and creates an environment for success. The university also provides continuous learning opportunities, ensuring employees have the tools and mindset needed to thrive in the digital world and tackle future challenges.
Two Course Tracks to Encourage Self-Directed Learning
UTA’s curriculum consists of two key tracks: cultural courses and technical courses. Cultural courses offer participants a deeper understanding of the culture and transformation strategy of Ajinomoto do Brasil Industria e Comercio de Alimentos Ltda. Employees learn how to align their personal purpose with the organization's growth and development. These courses also introduce agile methodologies, helping employees develop flexibility to quickly adapt to change while aiming to enhance communication, autonomy, and problem-solving skills to boost day-to-day efficiency. Employees also gain insight into the role of leadership in the digital era and explore how effective management practices can drive organizational success.
Technical courses aim to enhance employees understanding of tools used within Ajinomoto Brazil and help them master DX technologies. These courses also teach methodologies to solve complex problems in a structured and efficient manner to improve agility in daily operations. Participants will also learn about data analysis using various tools and process simulation techniques to analyze and optimize production processes.
Each course track incorporates active learning and storytelling techniques. Classes are designed to boost engagement and retention by also integrating interactive games and digital tools. These approaches encourage employees to take an active role in learning, absorb content effectively, and strengthen their collaboration skills.
