Ajinomoto Co., Inc. holds the sixth roundtable on better animal welfare

February 5th, 2021

In order to strengthen the Ajinomoto Group’s initiatives for animal welfare, we held the sixth roundtable on January 8, 2021. With Professor Junko Edahiro of Graduate School of Leadership and Innovation, Shizenkan University as facilitator, we focused on survey reports on animal welfare inside and outside Japan, and engaged in a constructive exchange of opinions on the themes noted below with outside experts.

  • Sharing the animal welfare working group’s activities

  • Exchanging opinions on revising our Group Shared Policy on Better Mutual Relationships with Animals

We reported on and shared the details of two major activities of the working group launched last October.

The first activity was sharing the objectives and results of initiatives with working group members and gaining a foundational understanding of animal welfare. This was followed by holding several dialogues with stakeholders involved in animal industry. The second major activity was discussing the direction in which the Ajinomoto Group’s animal welfare efforts should move in the future.

After sharing the working group’s activities, we exchanged opinions for revising the Group Shared Policy.

In the seventh roundtable, we plan to share opinions on the revisions to the Group Shared Policy.
