Ph.D. in Management. Davis has held the position of Professor of Strategic Social Value Creation at Rikkyo University in Tokyo since 2006 where his teaching and research focusses upon the theory and practice of the strategic creation of social value through business model innovation. He consults widely for corporations, industrial associations, government and international agencies on issues related to sustainable social value creation, strategic and organizational innovation in Japan and overseas. Served as a member of the board of directors of several of Japan’s major corporations.

Being born and raised in Australia has given me a first-hand understanding and deep respect for both the power and delicacy of nature, and the fact that our personal wellbeing is inextricably linked to that of others, and our collective ability to create value in a holistic and forward-looking manner. My work with both students and corporations focuses on how we can build and grow businesses capable of the sustainable creation of shared value.

Kraisid Tontisirin

Professor, Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, Thailand

Ph.D. in Nutrition / Doctor. As a leading nutritionist in Asia, Tontisirin served as the Director of Food and Nutrition Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) from 2000-2006. In 2013, he received the IUNS Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Union of Nutritional Science. Currently a member of the International Award Committee of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation.

Takao Toda

Ex-Vice President for Global Health and Human Security, JICA

Toda had been working for Japan’s International Cooperation on the soil of developing countries with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) since more than three decades ago. Ph.D. on his research of human security, in Graduate School of International Development, Nagoya University. Master’s degree in environmental management in Graduate School of Frontier Science, Tokyo University. Visiting Professor in Juntendo University and Guest Professor in Meiji University.

Yu Aoki

President and CEO, MATCHA Inc.

A regional producer of “Cool Japan,” Cabinet Office Japan. In February 2014, Aoki began running the web media site MATCHA for international travelers. MATCHA is available in 10 languages, read by visitors from over 180 different countries as of April 2021, and works in co-operation with numerous companies, prefectures, and local governments to share Japanese travel and culture information around the world.

I aim to resolve the asymmetry between Japanese culture, which is disappearing due to lack of successors, Japanese people, who have very little interest in them, and foreign tourists who visit Japan in search of the Japanese culture. My dream it to realize a state where “In 10 or 20 years, the culture that Japan can be proud of will remain because people recognize it.” I value the principle that “the personal own experience is valuable.”

Mana Nakazora

After working for Nomura Research Institute, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan, Nakazora joined BNP Paribas as the Head of Credit Research Department in 2008. She came to the current position since February 2020. She has served as a member of the Financial System Subcommittee of the Financial System Council.

Naoko Kimura

Membership Director, Global Impact Investing Network（GIIN）

Kimura worked for UNESCO Bangkok, Morgan Stanley Japan, and the United Nations Global Compact in New York prior to joining the GIIN in May 2018. The GIIN seeks to accelerate the development of the impact investing industry by convening impact investors to facilitate knowledge exchange, conducting research, and producing tools and resources.

I was born and raised in the United States. I had the opportunity to further my understanding of social and environmental issues within international frameworks when I was working at UNESCO Bangkok. Subsequent work experience in the financial sector made me aware of the potential of finance to change the world, which has led me to my current work.

Kimie Iwata

Outside Director, Chair of the Board, Ajinomoto Co., Inc.

Iwata joined the Ministry of Labor (currently the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare) in 1971, and served as a Deputy General Director at the Human Resource Development Bureau. In 2008, She was appointed as Representative Director and Executive Vice President of Shiseido Company, Ltd., and served as a member of the board of directors of several of Japan’s major corporations. She is a member of the Council for Gender Equality of the Cabinet Office, and the Manager of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives. She is currently the Member of the Secretariat to Audit and Inspection Commissioners of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and an Outside Director of Sumitomo Corporation and Resona Holdings, Inc. etc. In 2019, she was appointed as Outside Director of Ajinomoto Co., Inc. She was appointed as the Chair of the Board, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. in June 2021.

After belonging to the team enacting the Equality Employment Opportunity Law for Men and Women at the Ministry of Labor, and working on promoting women’s advancement in Shiseido Company, this issue has become one of my lifeworks. I am working on corporate management on the belief that solving social issues through business will lead to corporate growth. My personal goal is to continue working even in elderly age and to help the world through it.

George Nakayama

Outside Director, Ajinomoto Co., Inc.

Nakayama joined Suntory Spirits Ltd. in 1979. He was appointed as Representative Director/CEO of Daiichi Suntory PHARMACEUTICAL CO., LTD in 2002. He transferred to Daiichi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 2003. Due to business integration in 2007, he joined Daiichi Sankyo Company, Ltd. and became the Representative Director/CEO in 2010. He became the Representative Chairperson/CEO in 2017. The position changed to Representative Chairperson in 2019, and Full-time Corporate Adviser in 2020. He was appointed as the Outside Director of Ajinomoto Co., Inc. in June 2021.

I have been working with the following values; “A company is a system that creates value through collaboration through division of labor, and the responsibilities and missions of employees are equally important for corporate management regardless of the rank,” “All employees can move the entire company through their job and roles,” and “When discussing company issues, regardless of the level of position or the length of employment, we should listen to each other and discuss them on an equal footing and take the best opinion.” Also, for the same purpose, I have used the words “What is right, not who is right” as a commandment.
