Cooked Rice with Vegetables

Adding AJI-NO-MOTO®, the umami flavor enhancer seasoning makes this dish more flavorful even though this recipe does not require any meat ingredients!


  • 2 pounds (1kg) rice
  • 2 onion
  • 2 carrot
  • 10 ounces (300g) green pea
  • 2 tbsps AJI-NO-MOTO® (MSG)
  • 2 tbsps AJI-SHIO® Flavoured Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsps salt
  • 3 ounces (90g) ghee
  • 7 cups water
  • Pine nut and almond for garnish


  1. Wash rice and finely chop onion and carrot.

  2. Fry onion, carrot, green pea with ghee.

  3. Add Water and bring to a simmer, and add rice.

  4. Season with AJI-SHIO® Flavoured Black Pepper, AJI-NO-MOTO® and salt.

  5. Cook in low heat for 25 minutes.

  6. Soak almond in a bowl of warm water for 10 minutes.

  7. Drain and remove skin.

  8. Fry almond and pine nut with ghee separately.

  9. Add ghee to cooked rice and stir.

  10. Serve with a garnish of roasted almond and pine nut.
